2018 was a record year for the pharmaceutical and health insurance
industries. They reaped BILLIONS in profits. Meanwhile:
* 87 million Americans were uninsured or underinsured.
* 40 million declined to visit the doctor because of exorbitant costs.
* 37 million couldn’t afford to fill a needed prescription.
* And 26% of diabetics in the U.S. were forced to ration insulin.
Unfortunately, the response from many U.S. politicians has been outrageous
and cowardly. "We need a public option," they say. "You're being too
radical."
This is not gonna cut it. Half-measures and platitudes won’t fix this
crisis. Half-measures like the public option only increase the
administrative complexity and bloat of our current system, making it
substantially more costly than it already is.
The only real solution to our current health care crisis and the
exorbitant cost of health care in this country is Medicare for All. We owe
each other — and the millions of Americans suffering under the current
health care system — to fight as hard as we can toward winning Medicare
for All.

candidates running for office who have the courage and integrity to

This is about more than just sending a message. It’s about demonstrating
what we already know to be true — that Medicare for All isn’t just some
radical, fringe idea. It’s about proving that bold, visionary ideas are
what inspire us to get active in the political process. It’s about proving
that when elected officials listen to and acknowledge the needs of the
people, we make sure they are supported.
While some may hide behind right wing talking points, we’ll keep working
to make sure that everyone in this country has the health care they need —
no more insulin-rationing, GoFundMe campaigns, or choosing between
medicine and groceries.

demand that aspiring-elected officials take this crisis seriously.
Health care is a human right. And we deserve a system that puts working
families ahead of the interests of pharmaceutical CEOs.
It won’t be an easy battle: we’re up against mountains of cash, Big Pharma
lobbyists, and propaganda that aims to maintain a broken status quo. But I
know we can achieve great things when we all work in unison.
In solidarity,
