A Watershed Moment for Climate: Moving Investors and Companies to Value Water
August 16, 2022, 1pm ET
The Valuing Water Finance Initiative (VWFI) is a global investor-led effort to engage corporate water users and polluters to value and act on water as a financial risk and drive the necessary large-scale change to better protect water systems. The initiative calls on companies to meet a set of six Corporate Expectations for Valuing Water: covering water quantity, quality, ecosystem protection, access to water and sanitation, board oversight, and public policy engagement, which work to support investors in engaging companies on freshwater stewardship. As VWFI has recently entered the engagement phase, this webinar will cover the purpose, need, and opportunity of the engagement, as well as
the founding group of signatories. |

How Board Directors Can Influence a Corporation’s DEI Initiatives
August 23, 2022, 2pm ET
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is a hot topic for corporate boards, but how the board can effectively oversee and encourage progress is not always clear. This panel will look at diversity from several viewpoints, asking questions such as:
-
How do boards reach the best and most diverse talent pool when recruiting members?
-
How can the board meaningfully measure and assess progress on DEI beyond simple metrics of percentage representation?
-
How can barriers be lowered for underrepresented groups, including women and visible minorities at senior leadership levels?
-
How does DEI intersect with climate change, and how can a long-term strategy to reduce energy also be just and inclusive?

Benchmarking Methane and Other GHG Emissions of Oil & Natural Gas Production in the United States
August 30, 2022, 12pm ET
Concern over climate change has brought increased focus on methane and greenhouse gas emissions associated with oil and gas production. Methane emissions, in particular can diminish the greenhouse gas benefits of using gas in place of coal and represent a significant source of climate pollution. The 2022 Oil & Gas Benchmarking Report is a collaborative effort using publicly available data to develop comparable metrics that highlight the GHG performance of onshore oil and gas producers in the U.S. Key findings of the report will be highlighted during this webinar. |
