States like Idaho and Montana want to eradicate wolves.
The best way to end the war on wolves in the northern Rockies is to protect them under the Endangered Species Act. We just sued the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to make that happen.

The fall hunting season will soon begin. Without federal protection more wolf packs will be decimated, more pups killed sleeping in their dens.
We have to stop Idaho from allowing hunters and trappers to kill an unlimited number of wolves by chasing them down with hounds and snowmobiles.
And we have to put an end to Montana's sick bounty program to pay wolf hunters.
This escalation of the war on wolves has the power to destroy their future in the West. That's why we've sued to get them back on the Endangered Species list.
More than a year ago, we petitioned the Service to protect wolves in the northern Rockies under the Act. The law is clear: It requires the agency to decide on our petition within a year.
But the Service is dragging its feet, so now we'll see it in court.
We're using every legal angle available to stop the slaughter of gray wolves.
This is our second action in a week. It follows our petition to strip Idaho and Montana of federal funds for wildlife management due to their anti-wolf laws.
We'll fight to protect wolves for as long as it takes, and we need you with us.
