Dear Friend,
One of the things many of us take for granted every day is the glass of cold water to quench a thirst, a shower before work, and plenty of water to wash our clothes. And sadly that isn't the reality for many across our planet. Millions have access to less clean water over a month that many of us use in a day. A few days ago I took a week off from my campaign for US Senate and traveled to Tanzania, Africa to check in on the work of one of my most important public service efforts The Purify Project - whose objective is to ensure this community has basic access to healthy, clean water work.
This work, "One Cup at a Time," is committed to playing a small part in addressing this desperate need. Over the past year, The Purify Project has installed over 20 new purifying systems—our goal is to install 40 new systems by 2020. And we have no intent in slowing down our efforts in the coming decade but only accomplishing more.
You will be sure to hear more from me on this important work as it puts into perspective much of what we all take for granted. It also helps balance me in my run for US Senate - that no matter how tough it may feel running for statewide office it was my choice and pales in comparison to those children who go thirsty every day and can't quench their thirst.
