Sorry, friend, but if you’ve donated to me, then according to my opponent you’re not a patriot.

Yeah, that’s the ridiculous Trumpian language Kevin Kiley is using now. He claims that my support comes from the “machine” and his is from “citizens” and “patriots.”

Well, I don’t accept corporate PAC money, and Team Kermit is over 9,000 grassroots donors strong — the vast majority of whom are Californians who I’d wager to say are going out of their way to support my campaign because they love our country and care about its future. Pretty sure that’s the definition of patriotism.

This is all pretty rich coming from the man who just went on stage at CPAC and called California “the state everyone can’t wait to leave behind.” Seems like Kiley’s speaking his personal truth there.

If Kiley really cared about our state, he would have spent less time courting Trump’s endorsement and more time showing up to work — instead, he missed 272 votes last year. If Kiley can’t be bothered to show up to work in the Assembly, why does he deserve a promotion?

If you’re a patriot who thinks California deserves better in Congress, then I could use your help to flip CA-03 blue.

Our goal is to have 10,000 grassroots donors by the end of August, and we’re just 862 away. Will you make your first donation today?
