The Senate passed a reconciliation bill that would address climate change, lower health care costs, and more.

JOHN,

Over the weekend, the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, legislation that would address many of the issues that matter most to us. If passed by the House, this bill would make historic investments in lowering health care costs, fighting climate change, and closing tax loopholes that benefit only the wealthiest corporations.

This bill would give Medicare the power to negotiate the prices of medications and cap out-of-pocket costs for those enrolled in Medicare drug plans at $2,000. That’s life changing for Rhode Islanders who are struggling to pay for the health care they need.

This historic legislation would also extend expiring subsidies for Affordable Care Act coverage for three years, helping more than 13 million Americans save hundreds of dollars a year on health insurance each year and protecting 3 million Americans with pre-existing conditions from becoming uninsured.

Lowering health care costs for seniors and hardworking Rhode Islanders is one of Seth's top priorities, and this legislation would be a huge first step to do that. But his Republican opponent, Allan Fung, said he opposes the Inflation Reduction Act. Fung has shown he will stand with extremist national Republicans like Kevin McCarthy who will put the interests of billionaires before seniors and hardworking families.

If you're with Seth in the fight to lower health care costs, will you add your name to call on the House to pass the Inflation Reduction Act?

ADD YOUR NAME

Thanks,

Team Seth
