Coalition Calls for Policy Improvements and Transparency Following Exuma Oil Spill
In response to the July 20 oil spill on Great Exuma, the Our Islands, Our Future Coalition lauded the fast response, but called for improved prevention as well as transparency in the steps taken to respond to the spill, with particular attention to the use of dispersants.

Laura Reinsborough is not only relatively new to the role of Ottawa Riverkeeper, but also to Ottawa, having moved from Toronto to take on the role. While the organization has already seen tremendous success in restoring water quality over the course of some twenty years, great challenges still lie ahead. Namely, restoring the Ottawa River's American eel population, which has suffered a 99% population decline as a result of damming.
