I’ll be brief, because this is important:
Last Friday, MILLIONS of Texans started their weekend with a text from their mobile phone carriers announcing a whopping 24 PERCENT tax increase on cell phone bills.
That increase is entirely Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott’s fault.
He doesn’t care about rural Texas, and vetoed a fix that would have raised taxes only a small percent from the existing 3.3% tax rate to continue to fund the Universal Service Fund, which helps rural phone companies provide critical 9-1-1 and broadband infrastructure to rural Texas.
Now, every Texan with a mobile phone must pay the Abbott Tax—at a time of record inflation and gas prices that are higher than Willie Nelson!
It is IMPERATIVE we elect Beto O’Rourke and Texas Democrats up-and-down the ticket this fall.
