We did it, folks! Over the weekend, Senate Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act, and I won’t mince words here: It’s a really big deal.
This legislation won’t just fight inflation, lower health care costs, and reduce our nation’s deficit by making corporations pay their fair share, it’s also the most comprehensive climate rescue package by any country ever. Colorado families will pay less in out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs and clean energy, and our nation will help lead the planet toward a greener future.
Now I’ll be honest, getting this legislation across the finish line wasn’t easy. We spent hours upon hours over the last few weeks negotiating with my colleagues to make sure we could get this done — and we did. But folks, it was close.
This legislation passed with all 50 Democrats voting in favor, so I mean it when I say that this victory would not have been possible without you.
Thanks to folks like you who voted, put up yard signs, and pitched in when you could to help us flip this seat in 2020 and secure a Democratic majority, we’re making real progress in Washington — and I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am for that.
Every single Republican Senator voted against this critical legislation, and if they reclaim the majority this November, you can bet they will stop our progress dead in its tracks. We need to make sure they never get that opportunity, but we can’t do it without your support.
