Last night, the FBI executed a lawfully obtained search warrant at former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, reportedly as part of an investigation into whether Trump mishandled classified documents.

And, of course, Elise Stefanik came running to Trump’s defense:

"The FBI's raid on President Trump's Florida home is a dark day in American history. The political weaponization of the FBI and Department of Justice is an actual threat to democracy.”

One day after the release of a purported picture showing Stefanik’s name on a piece of paper in Trump’s toilet, Stefanik is throwing law enforcement under the bus. She’s protecting Donald Trump because her political ambitions are tied to the “likely 2024 Republican candidate for president.”
