This weekend, the New Yorker featured an article on Ohio’s lurch to the right, including an interview of our own David Pepper and a nice shout-out for Blue Ohio. (If you missed it you can read it HERE.)

And just two days later, the front page of the New York Times singled out Ohio for Republicans’ lawless behavior.

As you know, it’s tough to describe the Republicans’ redistricting lawlessness in just a paragraph or two, but Professor Ned Foley of Ohio State University did rather well in the Times:

“What happened in Ohio is an especially egregious flouting of the rule of law, purely for partisan advantage ...It’s outright defiance of democracy, and a warning sign for the rest of the nation on how ugly and dangerous this kind of power-grabbing can be.”

That pretty much sums up the current situation.

But it’s not the end of the story.

Because people across Ohio have had enough.

Enough extremism. Enough lawlessness. Enough partisan hackery.

We bet that’s how you feel, too.

And if that’s so, we hope you’ll join us at Blue Ohio. Over the weekend we’ve seen a crush of new members to our Blue Ohio team from people all over the state who are ready to push back against Republican extremism by lifting Democrats up.

We’re proving that Democrats are ready to fight everywhere, and that there are plenty of folks like you that will give them the resources they need to do it.

It’s a simple monthly membership program, where folks kick in a few dollars per month (our average is $14/month). Those funds are sent to the nominees, using a bathtub method of financing, where we support those with the least, first – giving them resources to fight against the GOP’s most extreme. Members at $10/mo or more are automatically invited to our monthly Blue Ohio “brown bag” virtual lunches, which have been described as “inspiring,” “motivating,” and “[bleep]ing great.” (All members have access to the recorded meetings.)

We’ll be sending out our first disbursement to nominees in the coming days.

Your donation – 100% of which goes directly to the nominees – will be used to fight back against the extremists that have torn Ohio apart.

Now you can be part of the team that puts Ohio back together.
