They all had a birthday this past Sunday, August 7!
Dear John:
On August 7, 1979, the Alliance for Justice was born, conceived of in response to a growing threat from the far right to decades of progressive advances in the United States.
In honor of our 43rd birthday, will you give a birthday gift of $43 to the Alliance?
AFJ was founded to lead the charge against ultraconservative judicial nominees and pave the way for hundreds of fair-minded, demographically and experientially diverse nominees to take a seat on the federal courts. In the 43 years since, our mandate has expanded to include advocating for a fair and independent justice system, preserving access to the courts, and, through our Bolder Advocacy program, empowering other nonprofits to stand up and fight for their causes.
None of this work would be possible without our supporters. Will you give a birthday gift of $43 to AFJ today in honor of our 43rd birthday?
The road ahead is steep and littered with the jagged rocks of a right wing in this country who have spent way longer than 43 years to stack the judiciary with conservative judges – a movement hellbent on rolling back the rights we’ve all fought so hard to attain.
We must prepare to fight back even harder, for even longer. This, and future generations, are depending on us.
Please, give today to resource this fight, to help AFJ lead our 148 member organizations and the country towards a progressive and representative judiciary and an inclusive democracy. We can’t do it without you.
