Over the weekend, the Washington Examiner published an op-ed about how Democrats have completely given up on Iowa. This is exactly what Republican politicians in Iowa want you to think: they want us to give up.

Just last week, a pro-choice majority in Kansas showed up to defend abortion rights. That same majority exists in Iowa. Victories like in Kansas — hard-won by the collective efforts of dedicated organizers, volunteers, and activists — show us that together Democrats absolutely can and will win in Iowa.

So despite what national political pundits may say, there is still hope. Hope to restore our top public education system. Hope for quality, affordable childcare across the state. Hope that Iowa will continue to be a place that all want to call home.
