As we keep up the fight for a more just, equitable Chicago, I wanted to give you a look into what I've been up to over the last few weeks...

🚃 In a really exciting win, City Council approved the Connected Communities ordinance last month. This measure, which was drafted by me and my Housing Department, will help expand affordable housing near public transportation hubs — making our communities more connected and our city more affordable.

🚺 I also had the honor of speaking to the 2022 National Organization of Women (NOW) conference. NOW has been on the frontlines of the fight for women's rights, LGBTQIA+ equality, and racial justice for over half a century — and their work remains absolutely crucial.

🎸 Chicago hosted Lollapalooza over the weekend, one of the biggest music festivals in the country. On Sunday, I took to the stage to announce that we had reached an agreement that Lollapalooza would return to Chicago for ten more years. That means ten more years of music, arts, culture, millions of dollars for our schools and parks, and billions of dollars for our economy.

💙 Last Thursday, I celebrated my 60th birthday with my close friends and family. To all of those who took the time to leave me a birthday message — thank you so much! I treasure each and every note I got.
