CLASP is thrilled to join many policy and advocacy groups as a founding member of the Paid Leave for All campaign. Check out the campaign launch video featuring CLASP Executive Director Olivia Golden and Job Quality team member Adewale Maye.
Please read the following message from Dawn Huckelbridge, director of the campaign, for more information and how to take action:
For the first time, national and state groups have created a growing collaborative to raise funds, hire shared staff, and develop a coordinated strategy to win an inclusive paid family and medical leave policy with bipartisan support.
As supporters of paid leave, you know better than anyone that each of us will need to give or receive care in our lifetime, whether to welcome a new child, heal from illness, help a loved one recover or to ease their passing. We believe that everyone should be able to take time to care for themselves or a loved one without risking their job or paycheck. Being there for family is what matters—no exceptions.
That’s why we need an inclusive and comprehensive paid leave policy that covers all working people—no matter where you work or live or whom you love. We need an evidence-based national program that's sustainable and builds on the models already operating in multiple states.
The Paid Leave for All campaign will bring together our communities, from small businesses to advocates to workers, and leverage our shared expertise and resources to change the narrative and turn this urgent need into political reality.
