** Two Programs will Transition to WTP
------------------------------------------------------------

** We are thrilled to announce two landmark programs will permanently transition to WTP on September 1st!
------------------------------------------------------------

This transition comes at a bittersweet moment for our friends and partners at The Lantern Project (TLP). After over a decade of advocacy and leadership, TLP will close its doors on August 31, 2022.

WTP would like to acknowledge the leadership of Crystal Bennett, Executive Director at The Lantern Project. Crystal’s dynamic leadership, advocacy, and expertise will continue to inform and inspire change throughout Washington.

WTP and TLP have a history of reciprocal partnership, and have worked together on numerous projects throughout the years. Transitioning Trafficking Prevention for Schools (TPfS) and Stopping Sexual Exploitation (SSE) (learn more below) ensures that they remain available to the community. Everyone at The Lantern Project is confident that under the leadership of Kyra Doubek, these programs will thrive and grow.

** “Over the past seven years, I have been fortunate to work alongside the devoted and brilliant team at TLP. I’m honored that you trust us to serve the community with these programs. I commit to operating TPfS and SSE with the same transparency, accountability, and commitment to justice embodied by all of you,” said Kyra Doubek, Executive Director.
------------------------------------------------------------

TLP’s Directors, Tanya Fernandez and Eli Zucker will help ensure the successful changeover of Trafficking Prevention for Schools and Stopping Sexual Exploitation. During the transition, we will make every effort to minimize disruptions to programs. Tanya and Eli have made immeasurable impact to disrupt sexual exploitation; and they will be deeply missed. The departures of these two visionary leaders, signify the confidence they share in Kyra’s leadership to guide both programs into the future.

Collectively, we acknowledge the significance of these announcements for our entire community. We hope that you will join us for our upcoming community forum in partnership with TLP. We welcome you to contact us with questions at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) .

** Youth Engagement
------------------------------------------------------------

Trafficking Prevention for Schools (TPfS) is an innovative, dialogue-based violence prevention program for high school students. Students improve their ability to think critically about how inequitable systems impact and intersect with racism, sexual abuse, and human trafficking.

Youth Leadership Board (YLB) meets twice monthly to plan community events, advocacy projects, and allyship skills as they work to end human trafficking. Youth Leaders create, coordinate, and implement one project of their choosing each quarter. This is a unique opportunity for high school students who are committed and ready to be engaged in activism, advocacy, and community organizing.

** Men's Accountability
------------------------------------------------------------

Stopping Sexual Exploitation: A Program for Men (SSE) is a non-judgmental program based on principles of social justice and personal transformation. It’s designed to help men understand their behavior and promote their own decisions to not buy sex.

Men's Accountability Community (MAC): is a group of men who are committed to repairing harm from gender-based violence for others and ourselves. It fosters a healthy community that encourages personal growth through accountable relationships.
