Over the weekend, Lizzie was in Fort Bend, where she gave welcome remarks to the Texas Democratic Women (TDW) annual convention.  It was great to be with members from across the state, including women from the new Fort Bend chapter, and thank them for their advocacy and hard work on behalf of Texas women.

Lizzie was also glad to join the Indian American Political Action Committee for the Meet Your Elected Officials Reception at India House.

In case you missed it:  Lizzie appeared on MSNBC’s “Zerlina” show where she spoke with Maria Teresa Kumar about her bill to protect the right to travel out of state for abortion care.

“I introduced the bill because it’s happening here on the ground in Texas. Since last September, people have been leaving the state to obtain abortion care in other states where it remains legal. Now for Texans, the closest states are New Mexico and Kansas many hours away. What is truly frightening [is] of course not everyone can afford to travel… but now we have lawmakers here who are threatening people who travel out of state and threatening the people who help them.”
