John, my team and I spent all weekend working hard alongside my Democratic colleagues in the Capitol, and I have to say, I am over the moon with what we have accomplished:

In a monumental step forward for our nation and our planet, Senate Democrats just passed the Inflation Reduction Act – landmark legislation that will improve the lives of the American people and lead us to a brighter future.

This is a huge victory, but the truth is that we won't be able to continue making historic progress and tackle other urgent issues like insulin affordability unless we maintain Senate control in November. If Mitch McConnell and the GOP retake the majority, it is almost guaranteed that they will spend the next two years undoing all of our hard-won progress and blocking our Democratic agenda at every turn.

Amid unrelenting heatwaves, floods, droughts, and other extreme weather,  this new legislation will allow us to unleash the full potential of the American clean energy industry, drive down greenhouse gas emissions, reduce energy costs for families, and create millions of good-paying jobs across our country while doing it.

While I'm especially proud of groundbreaking climate investments, it will also lower prescription drug costs, keep health insurance affordable, and ensure that the wealthiest Americans and large corporations pay their fair share. There is no question that this historic legislation will make a lasting difference in the lives of millions.
