There’s something else that Sean and I have in common, beyond our politics: we both recognize that there are few forces in this world more powerful than hope. In our most difficult moments, hope has been our life raft, carrying us through.

And despite what we often see on the news, there are so many reasons to be hopeful. Today, a vast majority of Americans support common-sense gun safety measures. And earlier this summer, Sean and his fellow members of Congress passed the first meaningful gun reform legislation in decades – with bipartisan support.
