We just got word that crypto billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried is spending $500,000 to elect our opponent Josh Lafazan, a conservative who registered as a Democrat just two weeks before jumping in this race.
But for now, it doesn't look like it’s working; a recent NY-03 primary poll found that Melanie and her opponents are in a statistical tie. That means Melanie is in striking distance of her opponents despite their corporate backers.
The hard work of our grassroots campaign is paying off, putting us within the margin of error of the lead. It shows that Melanie’s opponents’ can’t just buy this race with their personal wealth, corporate backers, and television advertisements.
But here’s the thing: this poll shows nearly half of voters are UNDECIDED, which means it could be anyone’s race.
When we reach out to folks and tell them about Melanie, they support her. We just need the resources to do more of that outreach before the August 23 primary.
