Team, Democrats have proven time and time again that we get the job done. 

On Sunday, Senate Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act, a $750 billion health care, tax, and climate bill that will create good-paying jobs, help us tackle climate change, lower the cost of health care, and prove that Democrats are delivering on the solutions our nation needs. Every Senate Republican voted no.

This landmark legislation is the biggest climate investment in our nation’s history and will lower health care costs for millions of Americans.

By the end of this decade, Medicare will be negotiating the prices of some of the top prescription drugs to keep costs low, we’ll be on track to lower greenhouse gas emissions by 40%, and corporations will be paying their fair share in taxes. 

The Inflation Reduction Act is a huge win for America, President Biden, and the Democratic Party who has proven time and time again that we are leading America forward. 

Still, there is more work to do. Universal pre-K, paid family and medical leave, and an insulin cap for everyone are massive proposals that were removed from this bill, and we can’t give up the fight until we get measures like these passed. 

In order to keep moving forward, we need to protect our U.S. House majority and send Michigan Democrats back to Capitol Hill to continue delivering for working families in Michigan. You and I both know the path to holding the House runs straight through Michigan, which is why I’m writing to you today to ask for your support.
