John,

As 2019 comes to a close and the 2020 election heats up, it’s time to take stock and get serious about preparing for the long road ahead. Three challengers have thrown their hats in the ring to run against me, which means we can’t waste any time. My opponents will be looking closely at our numbers for the upcoming end-of-year FEC filing, so we can’t fall short.

I know I’ve come to you for help in the past, and you’ve always come through for me. We've had a strong year -- my first in the House majority -- and I hope I can count on you for the support we’ll need to continue our work together.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 online before the end of 2019. Please click here to help us do it! Let’s start the new year with the strength and confidence to win in 2020.

We can be proud of what the Democratic House majority has done so far. We didn't let the Trump turmoil and McConnell gridlock stand in our way. We advanced legislation to reduce prescription drug costs, ensure net neutrality, prevent gun violence, guarantee LGBTQ equality, protect DREAMERS and more. I have led the fight in Congress to block oil drilling in the Arctic National wildlife refuge, to protect the California coast from Trump's offshore drilling spree, and to hold the president accountable for his crusade against clean air and clean water.

Meanwhile, I've introduced my own legislation on dozens of key local issues, including protecting iconic public lands and spurring local economic development, and spearheading bipartisan legislation to increase special education funding, expand rural broadband, and improve recruitment and retention of doctors at rural VA clinics.

Finally, we’ve drawn important lines of accountability for a corrupt and lawless President. That includes the somber but necessary step of voting to impeach President Trump after he abused power by shaking down a vulnerable foreign country in an attempt to coerce them into helping his 2020 reelection campaign.

Looking ahead, I have high hopes that we can win a clean sweep in 2020, putting Democrats in control of both chambers of Congress and the White House. Then we can finally enact the crucial policy changes we need to put our nation back on track.

But the first step is preparing for the battle ahead by making sure we have the resources to win. I hope you’ll help us do that today. Give whatever you can before the deadline hits on December 31 at midnight. We really need your help to make our goal for this final FEC end-of-year filing deadline.

Thanks for your unwavering support, and please know that whenever Washington politicians cross red lines on civil rights, reproductive choice, environmental protection, affordable health care, or humane treatment of immigrants, you can count on me to fight back.
