We know that the only way to stop police violence is to make significant public investments in people—not police.
If we want to find true justice, we need to develop new models of safety. For our people and communities to thrive we need to divest from policing systems and invest in community resources like quality education, mental health resources, health care, and access to opportunities for economic advancement.

Public safety exists beyond police and policing. We need to build community-based interventions and invest in qualified professionals like social workers, mental health experts, and violence de-escalation experts that can address harm without relying on the police.
The police-only model of safety is dangerous for Black, Brown, LGBTQ+ and poor people. Together we can re-imagine public safety and live in a world that is free and safe from the violence and racism inherent in policing.
