It’s an investment to help keep Israel safe today, tomorrow and for years to come. And I'm pleased to report that your investment has produced significant results.
This year, we worked with Congress to pass a record-setting $4.8 billion in security and missile defense funding for Israel, including $1 billion to replenish Iron Dome.
Congress also passed The Israel Relations Normalization Act to support and expand recent peace and normalization agreements between Israel and the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco.
And more than two-thirds of the Senate supported a bipartisan campaign to defend Israel from discriminatory treatment at the U.N. Human Rights Council and throughout the U.N. system.
Today, we are working with Congress to secure $3.3 billion in security assistance to Israel for Fiscal Year 2023, as well as $500 million for lifesaving missile defense programs like Iron Dome.
We're also working to advance bipartisan legislation aimed at preventing Iran and its terrorist proxies from acquiring more lethal drones to threaten and attack both the United States and Israel.
And we are working to pass the bipartisan COI Elimination Act, which seeks to withhold U.S. funding for unprecedented anti-Israel U.N. Commission of Inquiry intended to permanently target the Jewish state.
