New polling from Marquette University shows Mandela taking the lead over Republican Senator Ron Johnson in Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race.
That's HUGE!
Here are 3 reasons why this poll is huge:
- The New York Times calls Wisconsin "crucial in this cycle’s cage match over which party will control the Senate."
- Wisconsin is one of our best shots to expand our Dem Senate majority, end the filibuster, and stop Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema's "veto" over Democratic priorities such as saving democracy and voting rights, reforming the Supreme Court, protecting abortion-rights nationwide, passing meaningful gun control, and more.
- Ron Johnson is the worst. Just this weekend, a New York Times editor wrote that Johnson is "the senator who most fully embodies the detached-from-reality elements of MAGA-world -- the guy most likely to spend his spare time fashioning tinfoil hats while cruising Q-Anon message boards."
And that just scratches the surface. Johnson has used the Senate to enrich himself and his special-interest political donors, while helping insurrectionists attack our democracy.
Johnson spread so much disinformation about COVID-19 and vaccines that YouTube banned him. He has praised Putin and denied climate change. Wisconsin’s biggest newspaper calls Johnson "fundamentally dangerous."
Mandela attended our PCCC candidate training, and we endorsed him on Week 1 of his Senate campaign. He is popular, progressive, and has unified Wisconsin Dems.
