No gift is too small to make a difference

Northern Virginia has been a haven for immigrants and refugees. Among those helped last year at NVFS’ Multicultural Center:

• 67 were seeking asylum
• 79 were victims of torture
• 217 were survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault
• 21 were victims of human trafficking

More than half were women and children with few connections and even fewer resources. The needs of immigrant and refugee survivors of trauma are complex. The answers, even more so.

What we do know is that with the ripple effects of COVID-19 and various humanitarian crises, the need for affordable, culturally competent, and trauma-informed services will only increase.

And it is only with your support that:

• Mahnaz will find refuge from her war-torn country
• Addisu will sleep peacefully again
• Marisol will find safety away from her abuser
