John, what happened in the Senate yesterday was BIG.

As the President of the Democratic Municipal Officials — the largest network of elected officials within the Democratic Party — I am in full support of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 .

This legislation is exactly the type of support we need at the federal level to be able to push through real change for everyday people at the local level. Now, we need to see this legislation through the U.S. House and on to the President’s desk>>> [[link removed]]

Not only does this legislation combat inflation, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and hold corporations accountable, it is the most aggressive action to fight climate change to date. And it’s focused exactly where it needs to be: the local level . $60 billion will be dedicated specifically to renewable energy infrastructure and manufacturing, tackling the root cause of cities’ droughts, floods, wildfires, and extreme weather disasters.

I’m joining my Democratic colleagues across the nation in applauding the Senate and strongly urging the House of Representatives to quickly pass this bill so it can go to President Biden’s desk for his signature. [[link removed]]

Let’s get this done,
