The big day is just hours away. Polls open across the state at 7 AM.

This evening, I’m remembering why I entered this race. As our state came out of a once-in-a-century pandemic, I faced an important decision last fall – do I step up, or do I sit on the sidelines?

I chose to step up, because the challenges facing our state are enormous, from our housing and workforce shortages to our lack of paid family and medical leave.

I know these challenges because like so many Vermonters, I’ve lived them. I’ve had to work two jobs to pay the rent. I know what it's like to care for a loved one without paid leave. As Lieutenant Governor, I’ve seen how climate change has impacted family farms like the one I grew up on. I stepped up because our greatest challenges cannot be solved by Vermont alone.

This moment requires a congresswoman who will work with anyone — regardless of party — to do what’s best for Vermont. We need a congresswoman with the skills and experience to defend our fundamental rights. We need a congresswoman who will focus on getting results, not getting credit.

I will serve in Congress the same way I’ve served as Lieutenant Governor and run this campaign: by listening, leading with civility, and meeting Vermonters where they are. It remains the honor of my life to serve as Vermont's Lieutenant Governor, and every day on the campaign trail I fall more in love with this state.

As I prepare for tomorrow, I want to recognize that this campaign would not have been possible without all of you – our supporters, volunteers, and campaign team. This campaign has made over 300,000 calls, texts, and door-knocks. We’ve talked to tens of thousands of Vermonters – in backyards, at general stores, on front porches, and everywhere in between. We know we have the support to win tomorrow.
