After a long weekend of voting and debating, Senate Democrats finally passed the Inflation Reduction Act yesterday afternoon — and it’s a really big deal, folks.

This legislation will ensure large corporations finally pay their fair share in taxes so we can lower out-of-pocket prescription and health care costs, cut the deficit, and make historic investments in clean energy to fight climate change. But getting this bill across the finish line was no small task.

You know, Republicans have spent a lot of time talking about inflation, but when the time came to actually do something about it, we heard crickets. In fact, this bill passed the Senate without the support of a single Republican Senator.

While Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans stood on the sidelines with big corporations and drug companies who have profited off rising costs, my Democratic colleagues in the Senate and I voted to pass legislation that'll make a difference for working families. Now, it’s time to keep going.
