The Official Campaign Newsletter of Senator Sherrod Brown
Headlines from Ohio
WBNS-TV: “Here's what made it into the Inflation Reduction Act” [[link removed]]
Sherrod and the Senate passed a major bill that will take steps to fight inflation and lower costs, including lowering prescription drug prices for Americans on Medicare and lowering health care costs. It’s also the single biggest effort to fight climate change in U.S. history. It invests in domestic energy production to ensure that next-generation technology is developed in America and made in America, and will create good jobs that corporations can’t ship overseas.
The Columbus Dispatch : “Intel project could get boost after Senate OKs chip bill” [[link removed]]
The Senate passed legislation giving a boost to semiconductor manufacturing, bringing our supply chains back to the U.S., and creating thousands of good-paying jobs for Ohioans and Americans across the country. Intel plans to open two factories in Ohio, and this bill could bolster its investment in our state even more.
WLWT5: “Ohio native Steve Dettelbach confirmed as new ATF director” [[link removed]]
Ohioan Steven Dettelbach was confirmed with bipartisan support as the director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. He’s the first permanent director in seven years, and with decades of experience as a prosecutor and U.S. Attorney, he’s prepared to address violent crime and keep our communities safe.
Ashland Source: “A victory for Ohio's retirees” [[link removed]]
Sherrod, President Biden, and union workers celebrated Sherrod’s measure rescuing workers’ pensions -- which passed last year -- at an event at Max Hayes High School. Millions of workers across the country, including tens of thousands of Ohio workers, will see their pensions restored after years of fighting to make it happen.
The Toledo Blade : “Ban Fed insider trading” [[link removed]] The Toledo Blade endorsed Sherrod’s plan to ban Federal Reserve officials from trading individual stocks while in office. Government officials should serve the American people -- not their own stock portfolios. It’s why Sherrod doesn’t own individual stock, and has long fought to ban Members of Congress from trading stocks.
The majority of voters agree: Elected officials shouldn’t profit off their positions of power.

State of the Race(s) in Ohio
OH-SEN UPDATE: According to FiveThirtyEight’s forecast, the Senate is a toss-up. The Majority is split 50-50, so it could all come down to one race and polls show Tim Ryan and J.D. Vance are virtually tied. Let’s help push the scales in Tim’s favor.
