This weekend, I went down to Fancy Farm for the 142nd Fancy Farm Picnic — a classic Kentucky tradition where politicians take the stage to roast their opponents.

It was an honor to take the stage and be reminded what it means to come together as a family. Democrat, Republican, or Independent, Kentuckians show up — so that’s why it should be no surprise to anybody that Rand Paul was nowhere to be found.

Rand Paul is a coward. Not only did he use his wife as a pawn in an insider trading scheme, he also sent her to Fancy Farm to spew hatred and lies about me so he didn't have to get his hands dirty.

While I was on stage at Fancy Farm, Rand Paul was in Washington trying to screw you out of good health care, good jobs, and a sustainable future.

But while Rand Paul was voting down insulin price caps and doing his best to screw over the people of Kentucky, I showed up to Fancy Farm and spoke the truth.

Kentuckians deserve a Senator who understands what it means to be a good neighbor.

We deserve a Senator who is accountable to us and committed to our needs. In November, we are going to make that happen.
