Team — Yesterday the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act, historic legislation that will fight climate change and help millions of people access affordable medication. Although we were fighting for an even bolder response, this expansive legislation is unquestionably an important step towards a more equitable future.
And that’s not all we have to celebrate — despite Republican attempts to sneak anti-immigrant amendments into this reconciliation bill, not a single one passed.
This is a testament to the work United We Dream Action and our allies have put in — holding our elected officials accountable and making sure these cruel, harmful amendments didn’t pass.
Our work isn’t over. Democrats in Congress just proved they can wield their majorities to deliver on their promises on climate and health care, so we’re demanding they do the same for immigration. Chip in now to fuel our fight demanding Congress deliver relief for immigrant communities while Democrats still have full power to do so:

Amendments to codify Title 42 — a Trump-era policy to expel asylum seekers — and increase funding for the deportation machine were introduced during voting, meaning immigrants could have very easily been harmed in the process of passing this sweeping legislative package.
But a majority of Senate Democrats stood in solidarity with immigrant communities and kept these harmful amendments from passing.
A shameful few Senators abandoned their promises to our communities by voting for these anti-immigrant amendments — reminding us that despite this victory, we still have a tough fight ahead and must continue holding them accountable to the communities they represent.
Looking forward, we’ll be putting even more pressure on Congress to deliver for immigrant communities. This weekend, the Senate proved that they could deliver historic climate action even with the narrowest of margins.
Now, it’s time for them to do the same to protect immigrants — by defunding the deportation machine, investing in immigrant communities, and delivering a permanent pathway to citizenship for all 11 million of us.
We’ll need you in this fight if we want to achieve our goals. Please, rush in a donation of any amount to help United We Dream Action win permanent protections for our communities.

This is a moment of hope — now, it’s on us to make sure our elected officials seize the opportunity to deliver on the promises they made to our communities.
Thank you,
Juliana, United We Dream Action
