It was a long journey, but Democrats in the Senate passed the new climate + healthcare bill over the weekend, and I’m writing to tell you I will be proudly voting yes in the House.

I’ve read the bill, and I believe this is an important step to giving my daughter Lily (and all our kids!) the strongest and healthiest future possible. It includes landmark investments to address the childhood asthma epidemic which is near to my heart and investments combating drought and preventing wildfires. It finally puts our money where our mouth is and makes the US a leader in combating climate change.

It also includes vital prescription drug reform so our families can actually afford the medicine we need.

And it does all this while reducing the deficit and making the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share. It’s a big, big deal.

The past month has been an important reminder that Democrats can get things done! Now we need to make sure voters in my toss-up district actually know this is happening!

If you’re as excited as I am about these climate and healthcare investments, I hope you’ll chip into my campaign to continue making progress for the American people.
