John, I’ve mentioned before that I’m proudly running for re-election on my record. So I want to talk to you a bit about one of the most important issues we’ve tackled here in Colorado: making health care more affordable.

John, I’ve mentioned before that I’m proudly running for re-election on my record. So I want to talk to you a bit about one of the most important issues we’ve tackled here in Colorado: making health care more affordable.

Look, no one — no one — should ever have to choose between losing their life savings or losing their life. That belief is one of the biggest reasons I ran for Governor, and it’s why this issue has been a central priority of our administration.

We even started a focused effort, headed by our terrific Lieutenant Governor, Dianne Primavera, called the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care. (It’s not catchy, but it’s straightforward!)

Making progress has not always been easy. We’ve gone up against special interests who had huge profit incentives to keep the system rigged against patients. But by working together, we’ve made changes that are making a real difference in Coloradans’ lives:

  • We capped the price of insulin at $100 per month — so that folks with diabetes don’t have to fork over huge amounts of money to get life-saving medication.

  • We cracked down on surprise out-of-network hospital billing.

  • We passed major reforms to our insurance system that are reducing premiums across the state by over 24%.

  • We’ve worked to make affordable mental health care more accessible for all Coloradans — especially our kids.

As I’ve said to you before, if any political candidate is going to ask you for their support, they need to tell you what they stand for.

So let me be very clear: I will always stand for putting the wellbeing of Colorado families before the profits of special interests. And I will keep fighting to save people money on their health care costs, because there is a lot more work to do — so that no one has to stare down bankruptcy just because they or a loved one had the misfortune to get sick.

If that’s a value you share, and you’d like to support our campaign, I’d be truly grateful for any help you can provide us. Here is a secure link if you’re able to pitch in: secure.actblue.com/donate/jared-polis

Thank you for taking the time to read this email, John, and for being a part of this team. I don’t take it for granted, and I’m truly grateful.

Jared
