Honey Stechem credits the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its protections for preexisting conditions with keeping her daughter alive.

Honey is not alone. Over 700,000 Coloradans are protected for preexisting conditions by the ACA. 400,000 more have health care thanks to Medicaid expansion, and many more under age 26 have insurance coverage on their families’ plan because of the law. I fought to defend the ACA against the Trump Administration’s legal challenge – all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. I did so for Coloradans like Honey and so many others. Thankfully, we were successful.
At the Attorney General’s office, we continue to fight for affordable, accessible health care. We are taking on big drug companies that engage in price-fixing to inflate the costs of prescription drugs. And we are championing the cause of affordable life-saving insulin and will defend a new state law to contain costs.
I will not give up on this fight – for Honey, her family, and all Coloradans. Please help us spread the word about this important work.
