Participated in Border Security Visit to Central America
One of my top priorities in Congress is to secure our southern border. This week, I travelled to the Northern Triangle to discuss solutions to stop mass migration to the U.S. Our district has been deeply affected by the ongoing border crisis, so it is critical that we combat this regional issue from all angles. During my visit to Central America, I met with industry leaders, regional law enforcement and public officials including El Salvador’s Foreign Minister, the President of Guatemala, and American CBP officers stationed abroad.

Introduced a Bipartisan Bill to Streamline CBP Port of Entry Repairs
Each year, billions of dollars flow into our economy through land ports of entry. These facilities are essential to international commerce, so ensuring they remain in good shape is critical to trade and travel. That’s why I introduced the Reducing Excessive Vetting Authorities to Maintain our Ports (REVAMP) Act with Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28). This bipartisan bill would expedite port of entry maintenance by allowing U.S. Customs and Border Protection to conduct its own repairs on minor projects instead of delegating that task to the General Services Administration (GSA). Streamlining this bureaucracy will lead to quicker repairs while allowing GSA to focus on larger, more resource-intensive projects.

The U.S. Enters a Recession

The U.S. is officially in a recession. This news is not shocking to most Americans who have been paying more for just about everything due to out-of-control Democrat spending and crushing energy regulations. People are living paycheck to paycheck and many have been forced to burn through their savings just to stay afloat. If you need payment assistance for electricity, natural gas, or propane costs for your home, please click here for potential relief.
