[ NRDC ]NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council)
This is without a doubt the most challenging time in NRDC's 50-year
history. The assaults on our planet and our climate are getting more
intense — but so is our opposition to
them.
The harder the Trump administration and its pro-polluter allies fight to
undo our critical environmental protections, the more forcefully NRDC and
supporters like you respond.
Every single one of our victories for the environment this year was
possible because NRDC members and activists stepped up and made their
voices heard in Washington ... hit the streets across the country to march
for change ... or helped fund our courtroom battles and hard-hitting
campaigns to defend our planet.
Here are a few of the victories that YOU made possible:
[1]Polar Bears
A judge sided with NRDC and
blocked Trump's attempt to open
the Atlantic and Arctic coasts to
offshore oil drilling.
[2]Otters
NRDC helped win stronger
protections to crack down on the
global trade in Asian otters,
giraffes, and sharks.
[3]Fire Zinke
Trump's former Interior Secretary
Ryan Zinke was forced to resign,
thanks in part to pressure from an
NRDC campaign exposing a nightmarish
string of ethics violations.
[4]Giraffes
An NRDC lawsuit forced the Trump
administration to consider
granting endangered species
protections to giraffes.
[5]Pipeline Protests
The governors of NY and NJ have
continued to reject the proposed
Williams fracked gas pipeline
following a groundswell of public
opposition, including from NRDC
activists.
[6]Whale
In response to legal pressure from
NRDC, the Trump administration
granted endangered species
protections to the Gulf of Mexico
whale.
[7]Pipeline Protests
Siding with NRDC, a court found that
the Bureau of Land Management
illegally approved gas drilling in
New Mexico's Greater Chaco Region, a
landscape sacred to Native
Americans.
Thank you for being in our corner, always. We couldn't do any of this
without you.
Sincerely,
[1]Mitch

Donations will be used to fund our fierce courtroom battles to stop
President Trump's destructive agenda, and for other campaigns that allow
NRDC to protect the environment in the most effective way possible.
The mission of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is to
safeguard the Earth: its people, its plants and animals, and the natural
systems on which all life depends.
