Our climate crisis has wrought havoc on Ohio. Columbus in now part of the “Asthma Belt” due to our poor air quality. Because of a dangerous combination of poverty and pollution, our lower-income families are getting the worst of this Asthma Belt. It’s led Columbus to be a metropolitan area with one of the highest rates of children missing school due to asthma attacks in the country.

It’s why we know a Green New Deal is not only beneficial, but necessary. We need its environmental protections, we need its living wage jobs, and we need to stop climate change in its tracks and protect our planet for future generations.
