John, did you see this?

Republican Senators, who work about half the year, are complaining because they have to go to work.

Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, who is running for his EIGHTH TERM, and would be 95 years old when it ends if elected, tweeted out his anger at the fact he has to be in Washington for a job he just can't seem to quit, voting on truly groundbreaking legislation.

This is what he tweeted this last Friday: “Each Dec Schumer puts out schedule for Senate I set Grassley family reunion based on schedule. For 2nd yr in row I won’t be at reunion I’m in DC to fight Dems irresponsible tax&spend bill. Need a Republican majority hv schedule we can count on & a RESPONSIBLE FISCAL AGENDA

Are you kidding me? Can you imagine if any of us whined about a job where we work 171 days of the year--including every Friday off--the way Grassley does here? We'd be fired, of course.

If poor Chuck, who first got to the Senate in 1980, when the Rubik's Cube came out, John Lennon was shot and The Empire Strikes Back was released, hates this job so much, why is he running for another six-year term, just like the past seven times?

We need Admiral Mike Franken in Washington. Can you give $2, $5, $10 or whatever you can afford to help send him to Washington and Chuck Grassley back to Iowa where he'll be far from electoral college certification and can attend all the family reunions he'd like?

Worse yet the bill Grassley is complaining about--the Inflation Reduction Act--includes the biggest step ever taken by the U.S. to fight climate change, allow Medicare to finally bulk negotiate for prescriptions, saving many seniors thousands of dollars every year, place a minimum tax on big corporations so they can't get away with paying little to nothing and will crack down on wealthy tax cheats. Grassley, who voted for Trump's ludicrous budget-busting tax cut, is set to vote against this while talking about a "responsible fiscal agenda."

Grassley, of course, was also suspiciously close to Trump's coup, tweeting out on January 6th that he'd be certifying the electoral votes, something historically done by Vice Presidents. Why didn't Grassley expect Mike Pence to be there? What did he know that we didn't? I sure hope the Jan 6th Committee gets to the bottom of it.

We can send this seditionist who refused to impeach Trump like seven of his Republican colleagues and every Democrat, to all the reunions he wants to go to in the future and get him the hell out of Washington where he's dangerous and apparently doesn't like being.

We can support Grassley's Democratic opponent, Admiral Mike Franken. Yes, we have a retired three-star admiral who spent 36 years in the Navy running for the U.S. Senate. Someone who spent his life serving the United States, not debasing himself in service of Donald Trump's authoritarianism.

Admiral Franken wouldn't be complaining about doing his job, he'd be doing it. He wouldn't be whining about a bill that does so much to help seniors, working people and our climate, he'd be proudly voting for it. And he wouldn't be seemingly aiding and abetting a coup, and then voting to let the perpetrator off afterwards.

We need Admiral Mike Franken in Washington. Can you give $2, $5, $10 or whatever you can afford to help send him to Washington and Chuck Grassley back to Iowa where he'll be far from electoral college certification and can attend all the family reunions he'd like?

Thanks as always my friends. For engaging in this fight and every other one like it.
