The number one question you should ask before voting for any candidate is this: what are they prepared to lose their office over to do what’s right?
I believe there is a deficit of political courage in Congress.
One of the most inspiring things I saw in my formative years was seeing Russ Feingold cast the only vote in the Senate against the PATRIOT Act. His foresight that the measure would undermine our civil liberties proved to be true. We need to elect more people to the Senate who are called to a mission larger than themselves.
I’m prepared to lose my job in office to do what’s right because this campaign is not about me. It’s about you and what we can build together.
We need to rebuild political courage. That is why I am running. I want to represent you – not corporate interests or lobbyists.
