In the aftermath of the Supreme Court striking down the constitutional right to choose, the House of Representatives just passed legislation that would enshrine marriage equality into federal law. Now this legislation is stuck in the Senate, awaiting further action. But John, codifying same-sex marriage is too important to wait.

Let’s be clear: The House did pass marriage equality, but that was no thanks to House Republicans. In fact, 157 House Republicans – including Kevin McCarthy – tried to stand in the way.

Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans have made it clear that they are not willing to stand up for our most fundamental rights – and instead will actively try to undermine them.

Bottom line: The House majority has never been more important.
