The Georgia voting rights landscape.

Fair Fight

Like the poll taxes and literacy tests of the Jim Crow era, modern voter suppression efforts are relentless and effective.

But Fair Fight is leading the charge to protect voting rights — and much of this work lies in educating voters across the country about the issues and solutions that are a part of this fight.

Our team has identified the three key voting rights hurdles we face in Georgia, and how we plan to fight back:

  • Voter registration. From 2010 to 2018, 1.6 million voters were purged from voter rolls in Georgia — making them ineligible to vote and creating additional barriers to casting a ballot. Additionally, 53,000+ voter registrations were held hostage in “pending” status. 80% of these registrations were from voters of color.
  • Ballot access. From long lines and limited early voting windows to forced provisional ballots and eliminating absentee ballot dropboxes, anti-voter politicians have done everything they can to chip away access to the ballot box.
  • Vote counting. In 2018, thousands of applications in Georgia were lost or rejected, disenfranchising voters, particularly voters of color.

Anti-voter politicians and their allies have made their goals clear — making voting as inaccessible and confusing as possible so fewer people vote, threatening our democracy as we know it.

But Fair Fight knows what it takes to fight back — and we’re tackling these issues through litigation, organizing, advocacy, monitoring disinformation, and voter education programs. We’re working to ensure eligible voters can safely and freely cast their ballots, partisan actors are kept from sabotaging our election results,  trusted election officials count every vote, and the will of the people prevails.

We can’t do this important work without your support. Can you please rush a $20 donation now so our team can help ensure efficient, just, and fair elections ahead of this year’s midterms and beyond?

Thank you for everything,

The Fair Fight team
