Hi, team, Laura Kelly here, Governor of the great state of Kansas.

This past Tuesday, the voters of Kansas decisively rejected a divisive ballot initiative that would have jeopardized our economic future and put women's reproductive health care at risk.

This is a huge win, but our work isn’t over. Our rights are on the ballot again this November, and if extremists win in governors’ races across the country, we could again see them on the chopping block.

That’s why I’m asking you to split a donation between my campaign and the Democratic Governors Association – the only organization dedicated solely to electing Democratic governors – before the DGA’s critical midnight deadline. Can you donate $3 right now?

Derek Schmidt, my far-right opponent, isn’t just dead set on undermining our elections and attacking our reproductive rights. He wants to go even further than that.

Schmidt wants to take us back to the days when extreme political ideologies won over basic common sense – he wants to take us back to the days of budget deficits, when some schools were so poorly funded that they were forced to go to 4-day school weeks. He wants to take us back to the days when Kansas was getting national attention for all the wrong reasons.

I’m doing everything I can to stop him, but public polling now shows I only have a slim lead.

We’ve beat tough odds before. In 2018 pundits claimed my race was unwinnable because Donald Trump won the state by over 20 points. But with the help of the DGA, I flipped Kansas from red to blue.
