John,
What would Maine’s future without lobster look like? Under a Paul LePage administration, we would get closer to finding out. His climate-denying agenda isn’t just disastrous for our environment, it could destroy our way of life too.
Farmers and business owners across the state are already speaking about how climate change is impacting their business, but LePage continues to ignore them – like he always has. Maine’s economy and environment will always be connected and we need a governor who understands that.
LePage and other Republicans might find it easy to ignore climate change now, but things won’t always be so easy. According to a recent study, by 2050, Maine’s lobster population could fall by up to 50 percent. Unless we take steps to protect our environment, this could be our future.
Thanks to Governor Mills’s leadership, Maine is on pace to hit groundbreaking climate goals. We’ve curbed emissions and our communities are better prepared for the impacts of the climate crisis. But this progress is at risk with Paul LePage.
Thank you,
