Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update |
Good Afternoon,
It is good to be back in Arizona after a busy few weeks of voting in Washington, D.C.!
This week, I met with two constituents, Dawn and Scott Brown, who are advocating for patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
I also took part in an Energy and Coastal Conservation Tour in Louisiana with the Energy, Climate and Conservation Task Force created by Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy. We toured the Mississippi River and discussed Louisiana's costal resilience and thriving energy industry!
We also discussed the fishing industry, and we were able to see a shrimp boat at Port Fourchon in Louisiana!

Remembering Congresswoman Jackie Walorski
I was deeply saddened to hear that Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of Indiana passed away earlier this week in a car accident, along with Emma Thomson, her Communications Director, and Zachery Potts, who was her District Director and the St. Joseph County Republican Party Chairman. Jackie Walorski lived a life dedicated to serving the people of Indiana, and she will be greatly missed. I ask everyone to please keep the loved ones of Jackie, Emma, and Zachery in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Stacy on the Right
It was great to join Stacy on the Right to discuss my bill to cut back on burdensome nuclear energy regulations, the Democrats’ disastrous Green New Deal agenda, and President Biden’s border crisis. Biden and Congressional Democrats must stop putting America LAST. Listen below:

GET THE FACTS: Democrats' Reckless Spending Spree
Our nation has entered into a recession after two quarters of negative GDP growth, and inflation is at a 40-year high. Instead of focusing on solving this economic crisis caused by out-of-control government spending, Congressional Democrats are planning on pushing through a tax-and-spend package full of their partisan priorities. This terrible legislation includes $64 billion to expand Obamacare, which could total as much as $248 billion when removing the false three-year sunset provision and $80 billion to double the size of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by hiring 87,000 IRS agents to audit hardworking Americans. This partisan package also includes $369 billion dollars to fund the left's disastrous Green New Deal agenda that will increase Americans' already sky-high energy costs and will make our nation's energy crisis even worse. In total, this bill is projected to increase our nation's deficit by $114 billion, and will raise taxes on nearly every single American. According to the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, this package will increase inflation rates for the next two years. At a time when Americans need economic relief and a reprieve from the high prices at the pump, Democrats are more focused on their own unrealistic agenda than helping the American people.

Casework Highlight
A constituent reached out to our office for assistance with the Social Security Administration. He applied for disability benefits over a year ago, but he had not received a resolution. After our office contacted the Social Security Administration, his claim was processed successfully, and the constituent received his benefits and backpay.

Encouraging Story
I want to share this story about how Phoenix Rescue Mission served over 600 children during its annual back-to-school drive by providing each child with a backpack, a school uniform, school supplies, a new pair of shoes, and reading books. It is wonderful to see the Phoenix Rescue Mission helping so many children in our local communities!
