John, I’m in this fight for my family. I was born and raised between Florida and Puerto Rico, where I was taught to put community first. In key races like this one, where over 35% of our neighbors identify as Latino, it’s a strategic imperative that we connect authentically with our voters.
From Day 1, my top priority as Campaign Manager has been to make sure our team reflects our community. That’s why over 50% of our team identify as Latino. It’s also why we invested the earliest we ever have in a full-scale Latino organizing program. And thanks to your support, we’ve now brought on an additional 3 organizers to keep the momentum growing!
From phone banks and relational organizing, to attending churches and community events, our campaign has strived to be a part of the Latino community, and not just take Latino voters for granted – or even worse, only talk to them the final week of the election. We’re deeply invested in making sure every voter in our community understands what’s at stake this election, and why Josh is the best candidate to help our families.
What makes this outreach to the Latino community even more critical is that the GOP continues to escalate how they target Latinos with misinformation. Instead of seeing the diversity of our communities as a strength, they see it as something to exploit: they’re carrying out a coordinated and extremely well-funded campaign to spread Spanish-language misinformation and conspiracy theories on social media, messaging apps, and even AM radio shows. And these efforts have real consequences.
In order to fight back against the GOP’s misinformation campaign and have enough resources to keep this critical outreach going, we need your support. My goal is to raise $10,000 this weekend so we can keep funding this vital program that means so much to us. $10,000 may seem like a lot, but I know we can do it!
