“Minnesota Secretary Of State Candidate Questioned Non-English Speakers' Right To Vote” - HuffPost
“A law allowing disabled voters and non-English speakers to get help casting ballots ‘raises the question, should they be voting?’ GOP candidate Kim Crockett said.”
Did you see this? In a newly surfaced audio clip, Republican candidate for Minnesota Secretary of State, Kim Crockett, is heard questioning whether people who do not speak English or people with disabilities should be allowed to vote.
Crockett's comments are shocking even by the standards of today's extremist and utterly disgraced Republican Party. The suggestion that we consider denying the right to vote, one of the most fundamental freedoms in our nation, to thousands of American citizens because of a disability or the language they speak is shocking.
John, can you help us send the clear message that Minnesota DFLers condemn Crockett’s suggestions in the strongest possible term? Pitch in to be counted towards our 1,000 grassroots contributions goal by tomorrow night!
This isn’t even the first time Crockett has already attacked or denigrated Jewish people, Minnesotans who don’t speak English, immigrants, and people with disabilities. Yet, after Tuesday, she will be the official Republican candidate on the general election ballot.
John, when we say this is one of the most important elections of our lives, we mean it. Electing Kim Crockett or any GOP candidate running on the same ticket as her for any office is like sending a fox to guard the hen house. We cannot let it happen.
If you can, please rush a donation that works for you by 11:59 pm tomorrow night to help us show our fellow Minnesotans that DFLers are ready to make sure Kim Crockett never comes anywhere near the MN Secretary of State’s office.
Thank you,
Minnesota DFL
