Hey John, how’s your Saturday?
At this point, we all know about Speaker Pelosi's historic trip to Taiwan.
Right off the bat: please don’t take your foreign policy news from cable news pundits who have an agenda to bash the President and the Speaker regardless of what the facts are.
I have been sitting back and watching in awe as they twist and turn facts to fit their bias, and I must tell you that even I am impressed by their creativity. How can they turn such a strategic move by Speaker Pelosi into one of weakness?
This is a bold and powerful move. It’s no accident – she’s sending a message to the Chinese Government that we respect Taiwan’s sovereignty. That they better think twice before they cross us or the Taiwanese people.
You see, the Chinese government is a ruthless regime that doesn’t respect human rights. We see how they treat the minority Uyghurs and place them in concentration camps just because they’re Muslim. Of course, the previous administration didn’t utter a word to China about their human rights violations. They claimed to be hard on China, they obviously weren’t.
What Speaker Pelosi's trip symbolizes to not only the people of Taiwan but the world, is that America respects democracy, and that we’ll defend democracy.
If you’re a democracy, you’ll flourish. If you choose authoritarianism, fascism, communism, and dictatorship, your people will suffer from poverty and famine. This isn’t because we punish those countries, but because they punish themselves. They don't allow their people to flourish and that holds everyone back.
Once upon a time, America was united behind these principles, but the modern-day Republican party seems to have forgotten how special democracy is and how evil the other option is.
The Republicans and their right-wing media apparatus can cower to China all they want, but the Democrats, led by President Biden and Speaker Pelosi, have a different plan, one that shows America's might and lets the world know America is back.
You know, China and Russia recently joined together to create a new currency. But do you really think that will compete with the dollar? The dollar is the most powerful currency in the world, and it will stay that way. It is the benchmark of world currency; it is so powerful that in some countries it is illegal to have because it devalues their own currencies.
Speaker Pelosi's trip to Taiwan also sends a message to both China and Russia that if they start practicing illegal financial manipulation to bolster their new currency, we will defend ourselves and we will come out on top. Folks, this is the new warfare between world superpowers. This is what we have to do to stay on top and believe me that's exactly what we’ll do.
