Hey John, it’s Alessandra Biaggi. Let me introduce myself a bit:
I’ve been a proud Working Families Party candidate since 2018, when I defeated a corporate, GOP-aligned Democrat for the New York State Senate. Now, I’m running for Congress to help build a Working Families Majority and unseat another corporate Democrat and DCCC Chair, Sean Patrick Maloney.
Just last week, we found out some pretty shocking news: Under Maloney’s leadership, the DCCC has spent nearly half a million dollars to prop up an extreme, Trump-aligned Republican congressional candidate, who won by a small margin in Michigan this week.
John, this isn’t just a dangerous game that corporate Democrats are playing — it’s a massive waste of valuable Democratic resources and a violation of grassroots supporters’ trust. That’s why I’m teaming up with my friends at the Working Families Party to demand that Sean Patrick Maloney immediately put a stop to the DCCC’s funding of far-right and anti-abortion candidates. Will you add your name now?

After Roe fell, the DCCC sent out fundraising emails asking their supporters to chip in and help ‘defeat EVERY anti-choice Republican.’ During that time thousands of Americans full of hurt and anger donated to the DCCC — and what did they get in return? Their donations have been used to help elect anti-choice, pro-Trump candidates in Republican primaries.
We’ve seen that when we put the time and resources into building powerful coalitions around strong Democratic candidates, we can win — even in races others may view as a long shot. It’s something I know from personal experience.
When I first ran for the State Senate in New York, I was taking on a powerful incumbent — a corporate Democrat who had forged an alliance with Republicans for years and who had no trouble massively outspending our campaign. It was because of the support of the Working Families Party and the grassroots campaign we built together that we were able to deliver a huge win for our progressive movement.
There’s no reason that Democratic leaders should be wasting our time and money on far-right candidates who have no place in Congress. If you agree, will you join me in calling on Sean Patrick Maloney to stop spending grassroots donations on right-wing extremists?
