Democrats in the Senate recently announced a big piece of legislation that will make historic investments in clean energy, lower prescription drug costs, tax the rich and corporations, and much more.
It’s called the Inflation Reduction Act, and it promises to deliver on several important planks of our progressive agenda. The bill will lower energy and health care costs. It will invest in cutting carbon emissions in a real way by 2030. It will ensure that big corporations and the wealthiest Americans are paying their fair share in taxes.
We need to build momentum to pass this bill in the House and Senate right now. Add your name in support of climate action, lower health care costs, and taxing the rich. It’s important that we show the people support this major piece of legislation.

The leadership of the Congressional Progressive Caucus was integral in securing these policies for the people in the Inflation Reduction Act:
- Taking on climate change in an urgent way, including investing $369 billion in clean energy and climate action, and cutting carbon emissions by 40% by 2030.
- Empowering Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, which will immediately lower prescription costs.
- Taxing the wealthiest Americans and biggest corporations by increasing corporate and income tax rates, and investing in the IRS to ensure taxes are paid.
- Lowering Affordable Care Act premiums for millions by increasing subsidies to Americans most in need, building on what we did in the American Rescue Plan.
These will be huge wins for the people, but we must ensure that the bill passes the House and Senate. Let’s deliver these wins for the people, John.
